We just upgraded the UBC WordPress install which means a totally redesigned dashboard area. WordPress uses a lot of JavaScript in the dashboard so those with slow connections may experience a sluggish interface, this is where “Turbo” and Google Gears helps speed up your dashboard. *Note former Google Gears users you may want to clear your gears cache for blogs.ubc.ca prior to upgrade and then hit the Turbo again.
