We will be removing the below plugins from UBC Blogs. This is due to those plugins have unfixed security vulnerabilities. Alongside each we have outlined the alternative, where appropriate.
BigBlueButton
BigBlueButton is an open source web conferencing system. This plugin integrates BigBlueButton into WordPress allowing bloggers to create and manage meetings rooms by using a Custom Post Type. We do not have replacement on UBC CMS unfortunately. The recommendation is to switch to an external BigBlueButton hosting and embed back to your website.
Quotes Collection
Quotes Collection plugin with Ajax powered Random Quote sidebar widget helps you collect and display your favourite quotes in your WordPress blog/website. Using Quote or Pullquote block within the block editor as an alternative.
PJW Mime Config
PJW Mine Config plugin allows you to extend the list of mime-types supported by the builtin uploader.
jQuery Vertical Accordion Menu
jQuery Vertical Accordion Menu plugin creates vertical accordion menus from any WordPress custom menu using jQuery. Add menus using either widgets or shortcodes. Features include – handles multiple levels, saved state using cookies and option of selecting “click” or “hover” events for triggering the menu.

Next Page plugin provides shortcodes and template tags for next/previous navigation in pages. Using ‘Next Page’, ‘Previous Page’, ‘Next Post’ and ‘Previous Post’ blocks in the block editor as an alternative solution.
