Recruitment, Confidentiality, and Consent Information

Survey

    • Students will be approached in the classroom, provided a consent form, and asked to participate in the anonymous survey.
    • As stated on the confidentiality form, confidentiality is guaranteed.
    • There is no foreseen risk to participants.
    • Benefits include active participation in the BMS discourse community. 
    • All safety protocols will be followed under UBC guidelines.

Interviews 

    • Students will be asked if they are willing to participate in a recorded interview, following the survey recruitment.
    • Alumni will be connected via personal contact information (personal connection)
    • If needed, faculty will be contacted through email.
    • All participants will receive a student consent form and are able to withdraw from the study at any point. 
    • All interviewees will remain anonymous. However, due to the size and nature of the program, there is a possibility that some factors could indirectly identify participants
    •  Participants will be connected through email for scheduling purposes 
    • There is no foreseen risk to participants.
    • Benefits include active participation in the BMS community discourse (and maybe a bookmark).
    • All safety protocols will be followed under UBC guidelines.
    • Participants will be notified that the interview will be recorded (audio only) and transcribed.
