BIO

Hello! My name is Brionne and I am a 5th year neuropsychology major at UBC Vancouver. I completed my bachelor’s degree at UBC in the Okanagan but have since moved back to Vancouver to expand my knowledge in psychology. I am currently in the process of applying to graduate school for a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. My ultimate career goal is to become a licensed Clinical Neuropsychologist working in both an academic and medical/healthcare setting.

During my senior year of my bachelor’s degree, I completed an honors thesis investigating shifts of attention during arithmetic processing. In addition, I completed an internship researching the cognitive development of children. Seeking to expand my research interests, I am currently participating in a study at the Centre for Brain Health investigating neuropsychological and behavioural characteristics of individuals affected by familial frontotemporal dementia. Also, I am working as a behavioural interventionist for BC Autism, Ministry of Children and Family Development. Here I provide instructional and behavioural support to a child who has a unique combination of conditions, including both autism and a rare genetic condition known as Coffin–Siris syndrome. My responsibilities include monitoring and assessing the child’s progress and modifying behavioural plans to help him become more academically and socially successful.

During this course I hope to develop and apply proficient writing skills that I can apply to the field of Clinical Psychology!
