Call for Applications for the NUS Award in Nursing Leadership – Due April 27, 2025 at 11:59pm

Dear Year 4 BSN Students,

Call for applications for the Nursing Undergraduate Society Award in Nursing Leadership.

Awards have been made available annually through a gift from the Nursing Undergraduate Society for students graduating from the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program who demonstrate leadership, personal initiative and service to the UBC nursing student community, through active participation in extracurricular activities. Ordinarily, each award will be valued at no less than $400. The awards are made on the recommendation of the School of Nursing.

Invitation for Applications – Early Career Nurse Leader (ECNL) MSN funding opportunity (Sept 2025)

Dear Term 5 BSN Students,

We are pleased to announce an Early Career Nurse Leader (ECNL) funding opportunity available for a student entering the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program in September 2025. There are funds available to support one ECNL student this upcoming year.

This funding provides $8,000 per year for two years ($16,000 total).

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants should submit a Letter of Interest (LOI) outlining their goals for pursuing their MSN directly after completing their BSN.

We encourage applicants to highlight:

  • Their motivation for pursuing an MSN at this stage
  • Their leadership potential and commitment to advancing nursing practice
  • Any relevant achievements in community, academic, or professional contexts

Applicants may provide a brief (max 100 word), optional statement about financial need for this funding opportunity.

GPA/academic record will also be taken into consideration for this opportunity.

Please note that this funding cannot be extended if a student takes a leave from the program.

  • Please submit your Letter of Interest to Dr. Helen Brown, MSN Coordinator, at brown@ubc.ca by the deadline below.
  • Deadline for submission April 30th at 11:59 pm

Apply for Spring 2025 Graduation

Dear 4th year students,

Reminder to apply for graduation!

    • The application window will be open from January 6th to February 28th, 2025. All students are strongly encouraged to submit their graduation applications by this date.
    • Graduate students may apply for their graduation application until April 17, 2025.
    • Undergraduate students may submit a late paper application, which must be sent to our office no later than April 11, 2025. These applications must be forwarded by the faculty’s advising office. While late submissions are accepted, all students are strongly encouraged to submit their graduation applications by February 28, 2025, to ensure a smooth and timely processing of their requests.

Year 4 BSN Fall Awards – Applications Due Sept. 23, 2024, by 11:59pm PST

Dear Year 4 BSN Students,

The BSN Program is accepting applications for a number of University Awards for Year 4 BSN students.

These are merit-based University Awards provided to students at the recommendation of the School of Nursing / BSN Program, and the following conditions apply:

  • They are governed by University Awards campus wide policy, as outlined in the UBC Awards Calendar.
  • Undergraduate student awards based on academic merit will be given to a student who has a cumulative average of 75% or higher (full time course load with no failed courses).
  • Only 4th year BSN students are eligible for these awards (Currently in Term 4 – September / 2024W)
  • In addition to academic merit, these awards recognize volunteerism, community and/or family service, leadership, student affairs, extracurricular activities, and a commitment to the nursing profession or community, and the need for financial assistance.

To be considered for these awards please complete the BSN Awards Competition Application (Link to Application) by 11:59pm PST on September 23, 2024.
