CNF Scholarship Applications – Deadline is March 15th, 2024 (11:59pm EST)

The Canadian Nurses Foundation provides scholarships for nursing students across Canada at the baccalaureate, masters and Ph.D. levels. These scholarships are awarded based on merit and range from $750 to $10,000.

CNF offers a variety of scholarships with specific criteria to ONE IN FIVE applicants across Canada every year!

The awards have different values, depending on the level. Generally, the average value is:

  • Baccalaureate level from $750 to $3,000
  • Master and Nurse Practitioner level from $1,000 to $5,000
  • PhD level from $2,000 to $10,000

BC Scholarship Society Indigenous Student Award – Applications Due: April 4, 2024 (4:30 PST)

The Society offers Indigenous Award programs for students pursuing post-secondary education in BC. They are available to students who identify as Indigenous – First Nations (Status or Non-Status), Métis or Inuit. All are renewable in order to provide sustained funding over multiple years.

Indigenous Student Awards: $1000-$5000 (renewable annually) for students pursuing trades training, apprenticeship, diploma, certificates, degree or post-degree programs.

Nominate Your Peers for the NUS Leadership Award – Due March 13, 2024 at 11:59pm

Dear Year 4 BSN Students, 

Three awards of $450 each are offered by the Nursing Undergraduate Society to graduating students of the May 2024 cohort who are dedicated to the nursing profession and have strived to improve the school life environment of UBC nursing students through volunteer activity. Candidates are to be nominated by their fellow students and nominations will be reviewed and adjudicated for mid-May by the BSN Awards Committee.

Last Chance to Submit Your Application for Year 4 BSN Student Awards (Deadline Extended to Oct. 10 at 7am)

Dear Year 4 BSN Students,

The BSN Program is accepting applications for a number of University Awards for Year 4 BSN students.These are merit-based University Awards provided to students at the recommendation of the School of Nursing / BSN Program, and the following conditions apply:

  • They are governed by University Awards campus wide policy, as outlined in the UBC Awards Calendar.
  • Undergraduate student awards based on academic merit will normally be given to a student who has a cumulative average of 75% or higher (with no failed courses).
  • Only 4th year BSN students are eligible for these awards (Currently in Term 4 – September / 2023W)
  • In addition to academic merit, these awards recognize volunteerism, community and/or family service, leadership, student affairs, extracurricular activities, and a commitment to the nursing profession or community, and the need for financial assistance.

To be considered for these awards please complete the BSN Awards Competition Application (Link to Survey Application). The survey will close at 7am PST on October 10, 2023. 

You will be required to use the following template BSN program award application list of activities  (also linked in the survey) to provide us with a list of your leadership, service & community engagement activities from over the last 4 years.  Please submit your completed document by following the survey instructions.

Musqueam First Nation Scholarship: Applications Due Sept. 15, 2023

To acknowledge the strong relationship UBC has with the Musqueam First Nation, the President’s Office has created a community-based scholarship for Indigenous students.

Valued up to $5,500 annually and renewable for up to four years, the scholarship supports students from the Musqueam First Nation studying at UBC in their undergraduate, post baccalaureate (including Medicine, Dentistry, Law, Education, Pharmacy, Nursing, Midwifery, and Social Work), and graduate studies.

Recipients will have demonstrated academic and leadership achievements including, but not limited to, engagement in the arts, athletics, school, and/or their community. Recipients will be selected on their ability to demonstrate their openness to continuing to learn who they are, where they come from, and their responsibility in enriching and carrying knowledge forward in their community and the world.
