September 12th was Homecoming, opposing UBC and Regina Rams (from Saskatchewan FYI) . I didn’t go to all the events that were previous to the game, but I did go to the game itself. Now, let me first warn you that, because of my absolute ignorance of the rules of American football, I left after the first half of the game.

But I would still advise you to go to any Thunderbird game there is just because the vibrant atmosphere is worth the move and money. People scream “Let’s go T-birds let’s go !” with all their heart. Everyone is wearing blue. Many have a blue and a yellow paint streak on both their cheeks to support the team. There are food trucks just at the entrance that sell Thai food, hot-dogs, pop-corn, hamburgers and what not. There is music, photographers for the Ubyssey, a commentator and supporters everywhere.   As the sun goes down, the sky turns orange above the stadium. If you are lucky enough, you can have a seat in the venue, but if not, you can sit on the grass on the opposite side which is not too bad I guess.

So here’s my advice : go to T-birds games, learn the rules or go with someone who knows them, go with awesome friends, cheer the team, scream and dance, have fun.

Oh and we won by the way.
