Today I read news about the Forbes List of 500 richest people in the world and in China, And found out that a lot of new people on the list are involved with the Internet,such as the world-famous founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg. In China, on the list you can still see some founders of those famous websites, such as Robin Li who founded the biggest search website :baidu.com. And also Jack Ma, who is the founder of alibaba.com, has already been written in MBA case in Harvard University’s business school.
I’ve read about their founding business history, and at first it was really hard for all of them. Because at that time the internet has just appeared in China and most of people did not know what it is. So most people stil don’t trust this completely brand new product. Jack Ma used a lot of marketing stratery at first and he insisted on the strategy even though there was no profit.
Up till now, the Internet is still a high-growing field and is very profitable if you have the forseeing sight and technology. In this filed, the most important thing is technology of course, but I think the second important thing is marketing. Because in this highly competitive field , whatever you do, there must be a lot of others doing the same as you. You cannot rely on that your Internet product is much better than others, then in order to attract more users, marketing is very important!
Now there are still a lot of website doing web 2.0 SNS such as Facebook, but no one succeed like facebook because facebook has over 5000000000 users. We can’t deny the marketing strategy at first that facebook used to achieve today’s success!
