Last week is our first week of our group project this term. And in class we focused less on textbook but more on the group assginment and to let us meet our group. We are group 23 and there are five people in our group. After some discussion about ther companies that we can choose from. Our team settled for Amazon.com.
During the research, it entered my mind that internet company has become an important part in our daily life. There are a lot of large internet companies such as google, facebook, ebay, youtube, and amazon. They’ve already become famous.But years ago when they were small companies, they still need marketing skills.
I think for those IT companies, their marketing skills should be different from other industries. They should focus more on internet. From on sight, this makes them easier because internet is a very fast way to communicate information. But on the other hand it is also hard for them because people on the internet are very complicated and there are so many categories of peopls. So the marketing for those companies still needs a lot of work.
In China, there is a very big famous website called taobao.com. That is very similar to ebay. Now in China as long as you use internet-shopping, you would need that website. I read books about that website and learned that at the very beginning it was also very hard for taobao. And the executives used many ways to do the marketing. One of them is to be the sponsers of very big performance. And that really made a lot of people know about the website. It also used a lot of other methods. In taobao, the most important thing is to be honest to customers. And that’s why it is now the biggest one in China and also has a very big influence in the world.
