Since the early 1800’s time of the Romans’, Marketers have already tried billions of, if not more, ways to sell a certain product.
Marketers would always come up with the most ingenious ideas just get their products to be known, even using a telegraph during the 1800’s!
Yes, you’ve read right! A TELEGRAPH!
Fun fact 1: The first unsolicited mass spam message was sent out during 1864 via a TELEGRAPH, and it was a commercial for investment opportunities!
Fun fact 2: Did you know that the term “SPAM” was originally an acronym for “Sales Promotion and Marketing”?
Through out the years, marketers have been using various amounts of channels to be able to advertise their products to their desired customer segment and target market.
Today, one of the major channels being used is social media!
From Facebook to Twitter, marketers have been exploiting this channel because it can reach millions, if not billions, of people for virtually no cost.
Teah, a classmate of mine in my Marketing class, has posted a blog on how Twitter was able to help Carnival Cruise Lines and Cirque du Soleil reach their customers.
In her blog, “Marketing Blog #3: Adding Value Through Twitter“, Teah highlights benefits of using social media, such as Twitter, to a company, especially in trying to communicate to their customers about upcoming promos, events and the like.
Twitter came to life during 2006, and during then, no one could really grasp the potential of such a simple concept.
Today, Marketers need to be up-to-date with the current marketing trends that are, for lack of a better term, “trending” in our current world to be able to have a competitive advantage against their competitors.
One of the hottest trends today is online marketing! Twitter is a form of online marketing and so are the various social medias!
One new form of online marketing is also arising and that is the use of INFOGRAPHS!
Infographs are becoming popular due to it’s creative approach to sharing information to it’s viewers.
With the world riddles with countless information, potential customers are having a hard time trying to find specific information they need to make a purchase.
Using infographs is one of the best ways, today, to show information in a concise, fun and entertaining way.
