Week 2

Group Post:

This week we did some research on the waste receptacles, and every group member came up with some design ideas. We began the design process by drafting out rough sketches. We also prepared a preliminary schedule for the whole design process. We divided the project into sub-tasks and assigned deadlines for every task.

Week 1

Ken Spencer Science Park

Our group for the CSL Science World Waste Project consists of five Civil Engineering Undergraduate Students ranging in age from 19 to 23.

Our Client, Science World, is a non-profit organization used to inspire British Columbians of all ages to engage in the ever changing scienceandtechnology. They arealso committed to educating society about environmental sustainability through science and technology.

On January 17th, 2012 our group met with our client at Science World to discuss the approach and deliverables of the project. Our primary client contact for the project is Mila Cotic, the Cultivator of Community Connections at Science World.

The meeting covered the basic approach for any project or exhibition at Science World, including a specific design process of a working exhibit. As well as the Ken Spencer Science Park, currently under construction, located just Northeast of Science World. Our deliverables for this project will be to create an Exhibit Concept Document (ECD) for the waste receptacles, which may be used in the new Ken Spencer Park.
