About this Blog

This website is co-created by “Environmental Stewardship and Urban Systems” students and arises from the observation that many young professional working within municipalities and in consulting see the need to advance practice by incorporating sustainability and environmental stewardship concepts, but are looking for guidance on how to support such advancements.

The “Environmental Stewardship and Urban Systems” course was first offered in 2016 to 3rd and 4th year civil engineering students at the University of British Columbia. Since then, it has evolved into a co-listed (i.e. undergraduate and graduate) course open to all students interested city infrastructure, during which students contribute to this website in addition to working with local municipalities on environmental stewardship projects that support the urban ecology. For more information about this course, please see:  CIVL 475-598K, or, for a more detailed description of this course, please go to: Environmental Stewardship and Civil Engineering.
