Watch? Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps
Wanna watch Wall Street 2? Hmm…
I was kinda iffy about this movie when I picked it out and I’m still unsure as to whether or not I like it. As usual, I’ve picked out my favorite parts of the film and what I hated about it. Check it out:
Like: Carey Mulligan! Wow. She’s a force to be reckoned with. Her character was probably the only one that I liked! Yeah, of course Gordon Gekko’s a classic character from the 80’s, but the way Mulligan played her character was good. Her performance made the audience feel for her and empathize with her because of the fact that the most important men in her life have continued to lie to her and belittle her. Rather than focusing on what Gordon Gekko was up to, I was more concerned with how his daughter was doing. She turned what was supposed to be a secondary character into, arguably, what the most important part of Gekko and Jake’s life and, therefore, the most central character. (Besides money of course)
Dislike: Shia LaBeouf. Don’t have much to say about it except for the fact that he was just so unbelievable as a big time Wall Street banker. He looked like a boy in that fancy suit. Charlie Sheen looked WAY better when he was in that suit back in the 80’s. Sorry, bud. You’re an up-and-coming actor, for sure, but there were just better choices for this role.
Don’t Watch IF: You’re just not in the mood for all the financial speak. There were times I couldn’t keep up and I didn’t like that. If you don’t really understand what happened with or don’t give a crap about the stock market crash in 2008, you’re not gonna like this movie.
Like: The pace. Even amidst the boring financial talk that I didn’t understand nor care about, the fast pace kept me hooked so kudos to Oliver stone.
Like: THE CLOTHING!!!! The suits and Carey Mulligan’s wardrobe were all so damn pretty.
3/5 Loonies 🙂
