Autumn

Posted by in Art, Practicum

Last Thursday, when I was in my practicum my students were working on an art project.  It was a wreath of corn and leaves with seeds around the centre.  It was a great craft that was simple enough for a Grade 1 level, but was still a complex craft.  My school advisor had painted bubble wrap and the students placed sheets of paper onto the bubble wrap to make the “corn”.  After that had dried, and my SA had painted sheets of paper with green paint to make the leaves, the students were ready to make their wreaths.  I cut out the leaves while the students were given the sheets that they had painted and were to cut out the corn.  My SA had drawn on the shape that the students were to cut out.  She then hot glued the corn onto a cardboard wreath.  Then the students were to glue their own leaves onto the corn with glue sticks.  It was an craft that involved the students and created a very cute autumn wreath.  The picture I have below is my SA’s model for the students.
