Inquiry (first presentations)

I think that the inquiry projects were a great resource of me as a teacher. I learnt so much from all of them but five things that stood out the most for me were:

  1. When creating math problems, especially word problems, make the problems relate to the students current knowledge and interests.
  2. Kids learn and speak in over 100 different ‘languages’ and as a teacher it is important to learn and listen to any of those different languages
  3. I was happy to learn more about Restorative Action in the schools and that it is spreading through out the Langley school district.
  4. To help children with anxiety have them help you prepare the night before for the next school day.
  5. To help children cope with anxiety remember to keep a relaxed face and tone so they don’t see you frustration

  1. All of these ideas can be incorporated into the classroom to create a healthy, caring community of learners! It is wonderful to share and learn with colleagues. It is key to successful inquiry!
