Community Engagement Graduate Research Assistant (GRA)

Purpose of position:
The Community Engagement GRA will assist in the recording of the Faculty of Education’s community engagement activities.
Responsibilities:
The GRA will gather information regarding Community Engagement (CE) activities of faculty, students, staff and alumni members. This will be done through interviews and a survey. The GRA will assist in the design of the interview process and will conduct the interviews with respective members. The GRA will produce a written synopsis of each interview. The GRA may be asked to record the interview with audio and/or video for future posting to the CE website, and to include other multi-media materials as part of the portrayal of community engagement work (e.g., photographs of a community project). Such interviews will require multi-media editing, which the GRA will undertake.
The GRA may assist in the creation of a CE survey, and may be involved in the consolidating of survey information and its posting to the CE website.
Skills Required:
· Research skills: qualitative interviewing and survey design, interpretation of interview and survey data, report writing.
Desirable Skills:
· Multi-media skills: audio and video capture, editing, and production.
· WordPress experience for posting and updating CE site.
Hours & Compensation:
Successful GRA applicant will be working for a period of four months, 12 (twelve) hours per week, starting from early March 2013 to June 2013 or later at $25 per hour.
