○      Largest education conference in North America

  • American Education Studies Association (AESA)

○      Focused on Social Foundations of Education: cultural studies of education, curriculum theory and curriculum studies, comparative and international             education studies, and educational policy and leadership.

○      Held annually in late October/early November, proposals due late spring

○      Toronto October 29-November 2, 2014; proposals due April 15, 2014

  • American Association for the Advancement of Curriculum Studies (AAACS)

○      Part worldwide consortium of those with an interest in the field of curriculum studies. Primarily comprised of scholars, students, and other interested parties, the Annual Meeting of the AAACS is currently free of charge and sessions are open to those who wish to attend.

○      Held annually the week preceding AERA in the same city

  • Canadian Society for the Study of Education Through Art (CSEA/SCÉA)
  • CSEA/SCÉA promotes and support seminal conceptions of theory, research and practice at our conferences, in our publications, and in art teaching and learning in all public and private education institutions in Canada.

FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

General Rules of funding:

  • You must submit original receipts
  • You will be reimbursed (i.e. funding is not provided in advance)
  • You need to submit itemized receipts
  • You can only be reimbursed for an expense once (i.e. you cannot submit the same receipts for multiple travel awards)
  • Full time student

On-Campus Funding:

  • EDCP (Departmental)

○      EDCP Travel Award

○      Award funding is based on number of submissions and available funding from EDCP (but does not exceed $250 per student)

○      Eligible once per year

○      Basia will send out a reminder for submissions

  • FG+PS (Faculty of Graduate and Post-Doctoral Studies)

○      Graduate Student Travel Fund

○      Covers a maximum of $500
