The First Post in Term Two

Hi Parents,

Happy New Year!

During Lunar New Year period, the students experience various traditional activities in the class, such as making lion dance head, matching spring couplets, printing traditional pictures. These activities aims to help students better understand some features of Chinese language and traditions, such as using a concrete homophone to symbolize abstract meaning. At the same time, the students will learn Three Little Pigs through AIM teaching strategy.  They will also start to practice typing to get ready for typing Chinese characters in the future.

The Sixth Post in Term One (Last Post in Term One)

Hi Parents,

Thank you for your continued support. All students have been working hard since September. They have learned five sets of commonly used radicals (over 70 radicals) and two-letter compound vowels in Pinyin. We will keep practicing and applying them in reading and writing. I am so proud of them.  Please give them a big hug!

The festival season is coming. Wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Ms. Chen

The list was handed out to the students this week. The students were required to glue the list in their planner.

Dictation Date: Dec. 3 and 4. This will be the last dictation in Term One. We will use the easy way that students match the radicals with the English meaning. Students will get bonus mark if they write Pinyin.
