Outdoor Classroom Info Session

School communities are increasingly interested in building outdoor classrooms and school gardens; however, teachers have little to no professional experience in these unique educational spaces. To address this gap, the Faculty of Education and Faculty of Land and Food Systems are partnering to  design and build an outdoor classroom/teaching and learning garden for teacher education students and teacher professional development.

We welcome you to attend an information session about the Outdoor Classroom on September
22, 2010 from 11:30-12:30 in Room 308A. We will share with you recent developments in the outdoor classroom project, our partnership with the CURA-funded Think & Eat Green at School project, graduate and undergraduate course participation, meet the outdoor classroom steering committee, and learn about the plans for a design charrette (late October, 2010).

All students, staff, and faculty members are invited to attend.

Please contact Chessa Adsit-Morris (cadsit@interchange.ubc.ca) or Julia Ostertag
(julia_ostertag@yahoo.ca) to RSVP or if you have any questions.
