Subject: Posted Formal Report proposal to the Team Potluck Forum
Dear Dr. Erika Paterson,
I have posted a formal report proposal to the Team Potluck writing forum. This was requested in the instructor blog and due on October 15, 2021. The proposal consists of the following parts:
- an introduction which outlines sitting too long is bad, and computer science students are at risk.
- a statement of the problem which explains what is commonly known about sitting for too long and how computer science students are particularly at risk.
- my proposed solution to gather research on sitting and present it to students to aid them
- that the scope of the research will include questions on the health effects of sitting, the possible solutions, and students’ opinions on the answers to these questions
- a methods section which proposes the use of student surveys, research publications, and literature reviews to complete the report
- my qualifications for doing the project which include a BSc in biochemistry and connections in the computer science program at UBC
- a conclusion that reiterates the importance of the research, and asks permission for action
Thank you for taking the time to give me feedback on my proposal. Please let me know if my writing can be improved in anyway.
