I have posted my formal report proposal for providing new workshops to train CS students’ coding skills in ENGL 301 Team Blog. Please find the full text by clicking on the hyperlink at the end of this email.

 

A summary of my formal report proposal is listed below:

 

  • An introduction about the demand for computer science education
  • A review of mismatching between academic goals and industrial requirements in computer science education and the problem that mismatching cause
  • A proposed solution to solve the mismatching — providing a new workshop session to train students’ coding ability
  • Four areas of inquiry in assessing the feasibility of offering a new workshop
  • interviewing previous students and surveying current students as two methods to meet inquiry
  • My previous experience in the UBC computer science program to show my qualifications
