LinkedIn is a networking website that connects professionals to career opportunities by showcasing their profiles and achievements. Below is a compiled list of ten best practices for professional networking on LinkedIn.

• Use a professional photo/headshot to maximize profile visibility.
• A headline and summary influence LinkedIn’s recommendation algorithms. Therefore, create a unique headline that is attention-grabbing as well as a summary that is straightforward, but informs people of who you are, your capabilities, and what you are seeking.
• Provide detailed experiences and include quantifiable achievements.
• Use keywords and links to increase traffic to your profile and subsequent websites (i.e., professional blogs, websites, etc.)
• Ensure that your profile is complete and updated.
• Interact with other people and their profiles by liking and commenting on their posts
• Endorse other people’s skills as well as write recommendations for peers and coworkers. Additionally, do not hesitate to ask your connections for references.
• Use personalized connection requests to demonstrate your sincerity
• Post regularly with interesting content to increase your profile engagement.
• Be professional. LinkedIn is not a social networking website; therefore, your profile should not be too personal.
