Dear Madeleine,
Thank you for your job application package. I greatly enjoyed reviewing it, and overall it is an impressive collection of documents. I have listed my suggestions and compliments below.
Cover Letter
Your cover letter is professional and well-written. I have only two suggestions. There are two different fonts used in the header and greeting. I would also recommend changing the word ‘excited’ in one of its uses in the first two sentences, because it sounds repetitive.
Resume
Your resume is very eye-catching and I think it will stand out to employers. I have a few formatting suggestions. First, I think it would be easier on the eyes if you left a little more space beneath your name before the word ‘education.’ Next, I would bold your technical skills. I would also suggest adding a space beneath each job title before you give the job description, or make the job title bigger than the description so that it is easier to quickly discern each of your job titles.
Reference Request Letters
Overall, the letters were compelling while remaining professional. They were concise without being too short or curt. I have listed the few errors and suggestions that I found below:
Letter 1
There is an extra space after the second bullet point. Additionally, I would keep each bullet point in the same tense. For example, changing ‘analytical thinkers’ to ‘ability to think analytically.’ Also, you left out the word ‘my’ before the word ‘resume.’
Letter 2
In the first line, it says ‘seeing’ instead of ‘seeking.’ The phrase ‘developing my developing skills’ sounds a bit awkward, maybe change the wording.
With these minor changes, I feel that your application package will certainly lead to an interview. You showcase your professionalism and accomplishments well. I think that both an employer and your references will respond positively.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Best,
Hannah Becker
