Subject: Progress Report for Determining the New Office Plan for OP Media Group

 

The purpose of this memo is to provide a progress update for the report on determining a new office plan for OP Media Group. Please find the details below, and a link to the report proposal here.

Report Audience: Mark Yelic, OP Media Group president.

Report Purpose: OP Media Group’s office lease expires at the end of 2022, and the company’s president needs to decide whether to renew the lease for the current space, seek to get a space with reduced capacity, or get rid of the office altogether. The purpose of this report is to provide the president of OP Media Group with the information required to make a sound decision.

Report Significance: Making a good decision between the office options will have a positive impact on monthly rental costs to OP Media Group, staff safety, staff productivity, and staff satisfaction.

Research Plan:

  • Interview with an OP Media manager to get information on the following:
    • An overview of the four office options, including renewing current space, reducing current office size, finding a new space, and cancelling the office lease all together
    • Priorities and considerations from the perspective of the employer.

  • Send survey to all OP Media employees. Survey link here.
  • Create appropriate visuals using data from employee survey.
  • Conduct secondary journal article research on the following subjects:
    • COVID safety in the workplace
    • employee performance in work-from-home and in-office environments

Writing Schedule:

  • July 11: Contact interviewees to arrange interviews, compile list of OP Media employees for survey
  • July 13: Revise interview / survey questions
  • July 14-20: Conduct survey and interviews
  • July 20: Conduct secondary research and summarize results
  • July 21: Analyze primary data and create visuals
  • July 22: Complete formal report draft
  • Aug 2: Complete final formal report using feedback from peer review
