As requested in Lesson 2 for Unit 3, I have written a progress report for my formal report. This email memorandum includes the details of the purpose of the report, the significance of the report, the intended audience, methods, the research plan, and the writing schedule.
Formal Report Outline

Purpose of Report
The purpose of this formal report is to examine the state and impact of available resources to note-takers and clients who utilize the UBC Centre for Accessibility’s note-taking program.
Significance of Report
This formal report will outline the state and impact of available resources and how they can be improved to ensure the quality of the UBC Centre for Accessibility’s note-taking program.
Objectives of Report
- Determine and review the state of available resources for note-takers and clients.
- Assess the strengths and weaknesses of available resources to note-takers and clients.
- Make recommendations on how to improve the note-taking program to better support note-takers and enhance client learning at UBC.
Intended Audience
The intended audience of this formal report is to inform the co-directors of the Centre for Accessibility, Sarah Knitter and Kuan Foo, as well as Emily Cadger, labour union president of CUPE 2287.
Methods
The first primary method will be to conduct online surveys targeted at current and former note-takers and clients. The second primary method will be an interview with a current note-taker and a current client of the Centre for Accessibility.

Research Plan
Research Completed:
- Composed a draft of survey questions for current and former clients of the Centre for Accessibility (to be approved).
- Composed a draft of survey questions for current and former note-takers of the Centre for Accessibility (to be approved).
- Composed a draft of interview questions for a current note-taker and client of the Centre for Accessibility (to be approved).
Research Remaining:
- Administering surveys to current and former note-takers and clients.
- Interviewing current note-taker and client for in-depth perspective.
- Compile and analyze collected data from surveys and interviews.
- Produce visualizations of collected data from surveys.
- Investigate the problems the note-takers and clients are experiencing with available resources.
- Determine what recommendations can be made to improve available resources.
- Determine the feasibility of recommendations to improve available resources.

March 17-18: Review Any Corrections Needed for Surveys and Interviews
March 19: Open Surveys for Data Collection
March 22-23: Interview Note-Taker/Client for Data Collection
