Hello! My name is Morgan and I am a Kinesiology undergraduate student at the University of British Columbia. Inspired and shaped by my experiences as a medical kid throughout my life, I have always been interested in working in healthcare. After studying in a country with a socialist healthcare system, the transition back to a privatized healthcare system has been unique and eye-opening after working directly with patients who have hindered accessibility due to municipal, state, socioeconomic or federal barriers. After completing my studies at UBC, I will be relocating to the United States and continuing my studies in law, health policy, and healthcare administration/management. I am interested in gathering an MPH, JD/M, or MS concentrating in these fields. I have a lot of interests, with my professional experience illustrating a transition from event management to public facing advocacy, data analysis and report compilation, to practicing proactive communication and presentation skills to large audiences. Due to the expertise gained in my professional experiences, I currently work as a Commercial, Medical and Government Affairs intern at Genentech working in patient support and healthcare communications.

Most importantly, I love working with others. My dream occupation allows for completing and witnessing sustainable change that positively impacts others and the world in which they live in. What this will consist of, I am not sure at this time. But because of this, I know communication is a necessary skill to finesse and actively improve in order to satisfy and complete targets, deliverables and goals. I am always looking to grow and improve- because it never hurts to learn or try something new in my book!
