There could be said to be three initial schools of constructivist thought which influenced later works: psychological, social and sociological. Since then,  a lot has been said about constructivism, and there are many definitions of the term itself in many knowledge fields: “architecture, graphic and industrial design, theatre, film, dance, fashion”. Constructivism as an artistic and architectural philosophy originated in Russia at the beginning of the 20th century. They developed the concept of constructivism in these fields because they felt there was an urgent need for promoting the social expansion of Russian society (watch ‘Russian Constructivism’ in the Videos page.)

In education, its impact has been ongoing; however, it is often defined in many different ways, depending on the theoretical perspective taken. How would you define it?
