Piaget Experiments

When you teach a child something you take away forever his chance of discovering it for himself…Piaget

Piaget was (in)famous for his experiments and his tests. In fact, he worked with Alfred Binet on the intelligence test and even experimented on his own children!  Take a look at the following videos and see some of Piaget’s experiments close up.  What are some the interesting things that jump out at you?

Stage 2 – Preoperational

Stage 3 – Concrete

  1. It is fascinating to observe how our thinking and reasoning changes as we develop and mature. I teach young children. Many of them move through the preoperational to concrete operations stage during the course of the year. What once was too difficult to understand becomes so very easy. I like to credit excellent teaching but sometimes it is just normal development.
