Visionary Kits is a STEM Educational Kit founded by both Yasir Malik and Saad Hameed and aims to, “help kids learn how to build and hack useful and practical products while learning about topics such as renewable energy through gamification and community-based learning.” The hopes for this venture is to design kits on the topics of water filtration, fiances and computer coding.
Currently, they have designed one kit on the topic of Renewable Energy. This kit allows the user, “to learn about energy generation while building a portable power bank to charge cell phones and other electronics.” It features three different sources of power: solar, wind and manual, and encourages the user to generate power from all three sources. There is also a Visionary Kits App which provides educational content for the user as well as encourages positive social interactions sharing how much power they have generated.
Visionary Kits goal is to inspire and spark curiosity in the future leaders in the STEM fields. They also plan on donating 1 product for every 10 sold to local charities that run STEM programs in low socioeconomic areas.
More information, as well as Visionary Kits’ pitch video, can be found on their Kickstarter page!
