Hello from Vancouver

Hi ETEC 522 cohort, I’m looking forward to getting started with this unique course and learning about your thoughts on ventures in learning technologies. I have previously started a few different types of “ventures” and I think the process of creating new systems that are valuable and beneficial for people and communities is important and meaningful work we can all contribute to. I have worked in communications and multimedia production since 2013 and mostly design corporate elearning experiences now, which I find fascinating because of the intertwined nature of of knowledge sharing, learning, practices and culture within systems. I think ventures are exciting because they are intentional attempts to create systems that impact society, and I believe that learning technologies have the potential to be some of the most impactful and transformative kinds of ventures. Looking forward to the discussions over the coming months.

    Welcome to ETEC 522, Ryan!

Designing corporate e-learning experiences is a great area to work in and I’d love to know more about industry you develop e-training courses for, how you have found it to be for you so far, as well as what technologies are the most useful.

I also find it exciting how such diverse knowledge, skills, tools, communication and culture intersect with a common purpose.

Looking forward to learning with you in this program!

    Hi Ryan,
I’m based out of Suqamish (just up the road from Vancouver). I’d like to learn more about the corporate elearning experiences you create. Do you work for a company or did you start a company (you mention ventures)? I have an idea about delivering unlimited free trails of elearning experiences, but I’m still trying to focus my target audience. Perhaps you may know more about the corporate side of e-learning?
    Tara
