Protection of student data while using EdTech products is something that I have addressed in several discussions in the few courses that I have taken so far in my MET journey; as well, data privacy is something that I am conscious about in my own teaching practice. As an example, while participating in our first ETEC 522 activity, Market Projections, I took a look at the projection on THE Journal. This led me to one of its recent articles: “K–12 Data Privacy During a Pandemic” (Schaffhauser, 2020). The article was an interview with Amelia Vance, a K-12 privacy expert at FPF. After reading the article, I researched FPF and was so impressed with its focus on data privacy within the K-12 sector that I posted my own Market Projection in our discussion that week, and submitted this current EVA on FPF.
