After watching this video a few times, I have concluded that I would not invest in this venture. While i felt that the video was shot professionally, provided some great information and content I stuggled with understanding the differentiation between this venture and other machine learning and AI type educational programs. I felt that the pitch was vague in really explaining the value behind what this program over others. For example, they offer vague statements such as: ‘Some of our students are working in fortune 500’ – I would prefer to know how many students in your program land fortune 500 roles and where are they landing them? Another statement was: ‘Largest learning resource of it’s time’ this also felt very vague. What are we comparing this resource to? Is this really the largest course in AI and machine learning or is their limited competition in the space? If so, I would want to know this. In conclusion, as an EVA I was definitely intrigued but in order to invest i would need to understand more details as to the benefits this course will provide it’s students and how this is different then programs currently available on the market.
No, as an EVA I don’t think I would jump into an investment with this company. I also bumped into this add on Kickstarter- and found that it had the same issue I kept running into with so many Kickstarter products: it was selling a product to sole consumers, not investors. I’m not exactly sure how to come across proper pitches to investors, as this problem came up over and over again. That being said, I nevertheless tried to view this video as a potential investor into Eduonix, and in the end run, I was not sold. The video did not leave me confident about the goals of this training program. There are no credentials, and apart from showing lots of stock videos of people playing with robots and complicated programming on screens, it didn’t really show what the training itself would look like. Also, from what I could tell, their sales model is to convince people off the street that they need this course- I can’t see it being affiliated with a particular trade, or industry looking for a trained individual- the information just felt a bit too broad. Beyond a few people buying into this course as an alternative to seeking other free learning off the internet, I couldn’t get an idea of a bigger future for this course. It does seem to have made well beyond it’s expected revenue on Kickstarter, but as an investor I don’t know if this prosperity would continue beyond the campaign.
