Hello everyone!
Hi!
My name is Katie and I am a grade 6/7 teacher in Vancouver. I work in a fine arts program and absolutely love teaching middle school age students. I originally trained as a secondary French and Drama teacher at UBC and did my undergraduate degree at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
In my spare time I hang out with Daisy, my American Staffordshire Terrier, volunteer with dog rescues, try to watercolour paint and find cool new places in the city. I am also an avid scuba diver and traveler when covid restrictions allow!
This is my 7th course in the program! I’m excited to learn more about ventures in educational technology because, seeing new technologies being rolled out in schools I get to see how they can enrich or limit learning. I would like to better understand how new technologies enter the marketplace and how educators can be a part of rolling out technologies that will be most beneficial in the classroom.
