Learning Outcomes

In this module you will:

• define artificial intelligence;
• list current potential applications of artificial intelligence;
• explore ventures in artificial intelligence;
• experiment with artificial intelligence programs;
• predict how artificial intelligence may impact your own field of work and interests; and
• create a concept map, video reflection, or discussion post of major themes, ideas, challenges, and opportunities in artificial intelligence and an area of education.

How to Proceed

This OER has been divided into three different parts to guide your inquiry into AI. There are focus questions throughout the module. These are meant to provoke thought and inspire your responses in the activities

Part 1 – Core Knowledge 

• Read through the “Introduction” and “Startups and AI” sections of this module. 

Part 2 – Area of Focus 

• Next choose at least 2 “Areas of Focus” to read  
• Complete the activity at the bottom of your chosen sections. You are strongly encouraged to be creative. The activities have been designed to be open-ended and allow you to explore the aspects of AI that interest you. It also is an excellent opportunity to enhance your Participation Portfolio with unique content.
