As a teacher/new administrator I can see applications of data collection, analysis, and interpretation in regards to evaluating technology programs and crafting them so that learners, educators, and schools are getting the most out of any program or approach.

New data-mining software technologies allow us (educators, researchers, marketers, etc.) to evaluate multivariate metrics and uncover trends that could help improve learning opportunities or target specific outcomes. In some ways, I regard learning analytics as the “Moneyball” of education.
