Good Afternoon,
My name is Ken Lees and I am halfway through my MET. This program has certainly opened my cyber horizons and adding value to my educational practice!
I am newly 50 and very happily married to Kelly and father to Tyler and Raven. I live in the Comox Valley in SD#71 but I am an administrator in Gold River, BC in Vancouver Island West SD#84. I have taught in three school districts in two provinces. I am an ardent constructivist and believe that the gift of education comes with the obligation to give learners the tools they need to answer questions that are important to them! Education is the great leveler and can be the conduit by which one improves their condition. I grew up in urban poverty and have changed my potential because of education.
I love nature, music and good friends. I look forward to learning and growing with all of you!
Respect,
Ken

Hi Ken,
Congratulations on turning 50 and for cresting the peak of the MET program. Your example is inspiring. When I started my first MET course last January I was afraid I was too old, too busy with work, and unsure on how this would affect my young family. I am reassured from your post and others’ here that we are never too busy or too old to learn and grow. Thank you.
All the best
Jamie

You got this Jamie! My experience with the MET instructors is that they all have compassion to match their intellect. Good luck and hope to see you on the discussion boards.

Hi Ken!
Close on your heels I will be turning 50 later this year. Also just over halfway though the program as well and finding it super interesting too. Looking forward to learning with you this term!

My doctor says that age is just a number … and then the old guy goes and runs a marathon, so I have no excuse! 50 is my new 25. Look forward to wicked smart discussions!
