By the end of this module you will be able to:

• Discuss the impact of government on human resource management and understand the various legislation that impacts the practice including the Canadian Human Rights Act and the Employment Standards Act.
• Understand the importance of the recruitment function, identify the constraints facing recruiters today, how to implement an effective recruitment strategy and list key measures for evaluating it’s effectiveness.
• Explain the strategic significance of the selection function, the key steps in the selection process and evaluate the various selection tools and their effectiveness in selecting the best candidate for the open position.
