Two of the main goals of the Ethics of International Engagement and Service Learning (EIESL) Project are to raise awareness of the importance of ethically undertaking international work and learning and to build a community of practice around ethical thinking, learning and working UBC. We want to know what you think! What are ethics? How would you deal with conflict in a foreign culture? Where do you see yourself in the complicated power dynamics in international work? How does our economic status as “Global Northerners” challenge the notion of equitable cooperation and collaboration? We will explore these topics and others through situational case-studies over pizza and pop. Please come and share your ideas and opinions, we are looking forward to a great evening of dialogue!
