Outdoor Ads worth the cost?

So I was browsing through blogs and I came across Douglas Lam’s post about outdoor advertising. When we discussed this topic in class I was very intrigued by it cause I have rarely come across any interesting ones in real life. Here’s an example of a cool one I found on the internet.
We looking at what Douglas said about how he thought they weren’t really effective I instantly started to disagree. Mainly because of the ad above, I feel it is a very affective aid according to the AIDA model. It gets your attention easily and makes you aware, it makes you interested about the chocolate bar itself, and depending on what state you are in it may want you to desire it as well.
My point being is that I feel that these types of ads can be very effective as long as they’re employed in the right way. The advertiser must be aware of the AIDA model and the proper way to attain the last few steps of the model because usually the awareness is easily attained.
