Dell is a successful and innovative model of virtual integration which can take advantage of resources and make a win-win situation. Based on virtual integration, Dell can make flexible changes according to the customers and market. In the modern society, it is necessary to change in the trend.
Nokia once was the leader of the cell phone market. Trace back to 2007 and before, Nokia was the first choice of customer because of the high quality and smart appearance. When I was in the middle school, my whole family held Nokia. However, the market share Nokia hold is much less than before. The legendary times of Nokia passed. We still can learn a lot from Nokia case.
When iOS and Android system began to hit the market, Nokia did not see the further effects it may cause. Nokia insisted to Symbian until 2013. However it is to late to adopt new system to keep in pace with other competitors like Apple. Although Nokia did try innovations and changes during the time, it only focused on the improvement of their own technologies while ignoring the need and the trend of the market. It fell behind other competitors to adjust their products to meet customer’s need. It is always important to know what is the demand and how to make the supply match the demand. Nokia is a classic case to let us know how important change is in the business area.
