Re:” How Uber and the Sharing Economy Can Win over Regulators” from HBR blog
As a newly arising economic model, sharing economy introduces a socio-economic system which is based on different platforms. In the modern society, everyone keeps a fast pace of life and wants to achieve the most efficiency by the least effort. Sharing economy meets the need to a large extent. Moreover, it can be called a disruptive innovation compared with the traditional industries.
It is common that people will hold skeptical view towards something new especially something break the routine. It will be a long process for people to understand and accept it. There are several tasks companies which take the sharing economy system should overcome. As mentioned in the HBR blog, how could Uber and sharing economy win over regulators, is the problem should be given the top priority. In my opinion, once the company get the support from regulator, it will turn to be the best tool to promote the product. Since the majority doubts are from the legitimate concerns, it is wise for sharing economy business to fit itself in the existing rule and get support from government first. Obviously, people feel more confident to the permission from the government rather than any advertisement.Hence, regulator is supposed to be the backup instead of the barrier for the sharing economy.
