The leap from imitator to innovator

Posted by in Uncategorized

Literally,Chinese goods are everywhere. However, “made in China” always represents cheap and short-life. Now, one brand named Huawei, one of the biggest communication company in the world, attracts the attention around the world for its innovation and high-quality products. It might also be the significant signal that Chinese brands are going global.

For many Chinese companies which make achievements on the mainland, there are always some legal problems involved in copyright or patent issues. To gain the popularity and maximize the profit, lots of communication companies in China choose to imitate the technology and even the appearance of products from the leader in the industry like Apple rather than innovate by themselves. However, as the first Chinese brand to break into the ranks of the top100 best global brands, Huawei invests a huge amount of money to the research and development of its technology.

In my opinion, the leap from imitator to innovator is difficult and in the requirement of lots of efforts and sacrifices. It might cost a company years or ever longer to make a tiny advance in technical aspect. For a developing country with limited resources, it is a long way to go, but it is also a necessary step to take. We should understand that it is the high quality and innovative technology that convince the consumers.
