Business Ethics
About business ethics, in my opinion, everyone should do their best to make profits in their own positions without crossing the ethical line.
For individual,as mentioned in the article “the slippery slope of getting away with small stuff” ,people will not cross the ethical line by stealing billions of dollars at the very first. What attract people to commit a crime is petty profits which will not be noticed by others. Since everyone sticks to their own position and will not interfere others’ jobs , those who are greed will take it for granted that steal a little will not cause any harm to anybody. Actually, it do cause harm to the stakeholders. Many a little can accumulate to a huge amount. It is unfair to other stakeholders.
For the whole company, the basic responsibility are to ensure every employer’s profit and run the company in a balance. Also, for the company, it is necessary to emphasize the rules and the business ethics to employers to create a harmony atmosphere and a positive corporate culture. In the competition with others, obeying the business ethics is far more important than the result.
In Freeman’s Stakeholder Theory, benefit every stakeholder that really counts. Obviously, it is better to maximize the profit in every position and make sure the profit is divided fairly.
