I am a newly licensed family physician from Montreal, graduated from McGill in June 2017.
I grew up in Gatineau, Quebec, where I learned to love the outdoors. However, when I moved to Montreal for my studies, I instantly fell in love with the city for its never-ending cultural events and impressive diversity.
I’ve been obsessively passionate about coupling two great interests of mine- medicine and travel- for many years. It’s therefore not surprising that I took one year off my medical studies to work abroad. I completed observerships in Rwanda, India and Morocco, and plan on working abroad in the near future. My travel obsession doesn’t stop there: I’ve been traveling almost yearly since the age of 3, mainly to my father’s native Lebanon. My in-laws affectionately refer to me as Ibn Battuta (a 14th century world traveler).
I have yet to start my medical career, but in the upcoming years, I’d like to locum in Indigenous communities, work in urban multicultural settings with refugee and immigrant populations and work in ressource-limited settings abroad. I’m therefore greatly looking forward to the upcoming months, as I’ll be learning about all my main areas of interest.
