How to Write an Abstract

We thought we would provide some useful links on how to write an abstract for the upcoming Symposium (or really for any conference or publication). Below are some links that might be helpful, including a link to our call for abstracts. Also remember: don’t be afraid to ask for advice not only from your classmates but also from your teachers – they are generally always willing to help point you in the right direction.

Another way to go is to look through the available information in the UBC Library and UBC Blogs; they have several guides on how to do things. Here’s a link to get you started:

If all else fails and you have difficulty finding more information this might be a great time to access the librarian for nursing, if you have not heard of her before Lee-Ann Bryant is specific to the School of Nursing

If you wanted to know what the abstracts from last year looked like. This is the link to the Nursing Student Journaledition with the abstracts: https://circle.ubc.ca/bitstream/handle/2429/45164/UBC_Nursing_Student_Journal_Sept_2013.pdf?sequence=6

Please check out what they have to say – and let us know if you find other links we should share!
