This assignment has been quite intriguing and rewarding since I can now safely say I have developed competency in creating assessments in moodle. Additionally, I love the idea that I can create assessment online in the LMS that is used to deliver the content.
After ten (10) minutes of deciphering the quiz resource, I thought I knew it all. However, as I continued, I realised that the resource is so powerful and has many more features I think will be quite useful in my teaching and learning experiences.
The process of setting up test items is very easy. However, creating questions for the question bank was time consuming. It took me almost two hours to complete. However, after I completed the process, I figured out that the LMS has tools that allows for importing and converting existing test items into the bank. Next time I set a quiz, I will certainly use this fantastic facility.
I am impressed with the feedback facility since it is very difficult for me to comment on all my students’ assignments. In Moodle, I am able to provide pre-programmed feedback to students based on their performance. Feedback is very important and has consistent positive effects on learning (Gibbs and Simpson, 2005).
I enjoyed working on this assignment. I wish that I knew how to use this resource before, and I am sure I will be using it very often in my future lessons.
