The grades for participation includes constructive classroom involvement. This grade can be used to nudge a grade either up or down. Constructive classroom involvement includes attendance, constructive discussion, helping other students, and volunteering for demonstrations. Non-constructive participation is anything that negatively disrupts the course and/or non-attendance. This specifically includes working on phones or laptops when the instructor is lecturing or students are presenting. Rule of thumb: be respectful and do good work.
