  In teams of 2-3, students will create a short video essay analysing an artistic innovation in film (3-5 min). Videos will be screened in-class and uploaded on ePortfolio.

3 WRITING PROCESS – ASSIGNMENTS    
3a PAPER INTRODUCTION 10% Week 6
  Students will provide the thesis to their final paper written as a topic statement/introductory paragraph (200-500 words), along with a bibliography with 3-4 sources.

 

   
3b DRAFT PAPER 10% Week 9
  Students will provide a draft of their final paper. (10%)    
3c PEER REVIEW 10% Week 12
  Each student will peer review a draft paper from another student using the peer feedback rubric on peerScholar    
3d FINAL PAPER 30% Week 13
  Write a final paper on an artistic or technological innovation in filmmaking focused on a particular film/filmmaker.  Emphasis will be on how this innovation impacted the history of film production, in relation to the broader historical context. (2,500 words)

 

   
4 PARTICIPATION & PROFESSIONALISM 10% ongoing
  The participation grade includes professionalism in and outside of class and ranges from class participation in lectures, exercises, assignments and constructive feedback.
