About Us

We are a group of Applied Biology 260 students from the University of British Columbia. APBI 260 is a class on agroecology offered though the department of Land and Food Systems. As part of the course, students work on projects that focus on different aspects of the agroecosystem at the UBC farm. Our project is based on the hoop houses at the farm, which we are hoping to see used for season extension in the future.

Our Group Members:

Jenny Dueck is a second year student, studying sustainable agriculture and food security in the Global Resource Systems program at UBC.

Luna Hallam is a second year Land and Food Systems student majoring in Food and the Environment.

Andy Yang is a second year majoring in plant and soil sciences in the faculty of Land and Food systems. He is very interested in plant structures and soils.

Liheng Sun is a third year student doing his bachelor of science in applied biology, with a specialization of food and environment. Liheng’s current academic interest is to combine the knowledge of sciences, engineering and planning/designing, weaving them with the spirit of sustainable food systems, to envision the future of a more efficient city pattern integrated with an efficient food network.
