While we feel that our experiment proved successful in determining the feasibility and economic benefit of early season extension of brassica greens using a hoop house, there were certain areas of our research that did not work out as planned.
Due to a miscommunication the tray of brassica greens grown outside of the hoop house was not consistently watered. We feel that the final weights of the plants grown outside of the hoop house was affected by this lack of maintenance.
The data logger that was used to record air temperatures inside of the hoop house failed to continue recording information after we uploaded the air temperatures from March 4th to March 18th. This meant that we could not compare the temperatures inside and outside of the hoop house for the later half of March.
